Hanes Companies, a division of Leggett & Platt (NYSE: LEG), is seeking a dedicated Process Engineer to join our team in Winston Salem, NC. As the leading distributor of industrial fabrics in the United States, our products are integral to a variety of sectors, including industrial packaging, building products, automotive, filtration, furniture, and mattress manufacturing. As a Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in identifying and implementing process and product improvements to support business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzing product, process, and cost data to pinpoint opportunities for optimization
- Management of lab and its’ operations
- Overseeing all plant operations and development trials to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Understanding customer specifications and setting up SOP’s to consistently produce to specifications
- Develop and maintain accurate cost models for products and processes
- Generating and leading new product initiatives, from concept through trial and implementation
- Planning, coordinating, and reporting on development trials conducted in-house
- Delivering hands-on technical support across departments
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers
- Staying up to date on industry trends, products, and technologies relevant to Hanes’ market space
- Responsible for all new chemical approvals with EHS managers’ input and management of the plants SDS system
- Performing additional duties as needed to support continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a textile-related field (required)
- Experience in textile dyeing operations, including precision shade matching, color formulation, and process control for consistent fabric coloration preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers
- Experience in managing inventory levels, supplier coordination, and purchasing strategies to support production needs
- Detail-oriented, hands-on mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
