Hanes Companies, Inc. is actively looking for a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance on 1st shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent and a passing grade on the TPC, practical, and the Bennett Mechanical Aptitude Test.
- Must be willing and able to attend and pass TPC training, community college courses, and specialized training to maintain proficiency as a part of the Continuous Improvement Program.
- Must be able to perform assigned jobs with accuracy and time limitations.
- Passing grade on basic arc welding and ox-acetylene welding courses.
- Must be able to travel and work out of town.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
The primary duties of the employee are (but are not limited to) the following:
- Works with emergency repair personnel to develop a basic understanding of the facility and production equipment.
- Develops an understanding of the safe and proper use of basic hand and portable tools
- Uses ox-acetylene torches and electric arc welding machines in the safe and proper manner while developing metal fabrication skills
- Develops basic troubleshooting skills
- Learns the safe and proper use of chain hoists, slings, and other lifting and millwright related tools and equipment.
- All employees have the responsibility to identify and stop further processing of non-conformances and take action to prevent non-conformances related to products produced, processes, services provided or the Quality/Environmental Management System.
- All employees have the responsibility to bring forth suggestions and participate in continuous improvement process and verify the implementation of solutions.
- Conform to all quality/safety/environmental requirements and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by department supervisor/lead person.
- Ability and willingness to learn and perform mechanical and pipefitting jobs as a part of the Multi-craft program including installing and diagnosing natural gas systems.
- Attend at least one continuing education course each year.
