Cost Accounting Clerk
COST ACCOUNTING CLERK
Hanes Industries, Inc. in Conover, NC, a division of Leggett & Platt (NYSE: LEG), is seeking an experienced Cost Accounting Clerk. Hanes is a convertor and distributor of industrial fabrics and other products. This person must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail and proficient computer skills.
**THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN CONOVER, NORTH CAROLINA. IT IS NOT REMOTE.
Responsibilities include:
- Be knowledgeable in all aspects of weighted average cost system involving assigned products.
- Code all assigned material invoices, match with receiving tickets and purchase orders, key into system for payment.
- Prepare and key into system accruals/ reversals, inventory record adjustments (IRA).
- Communicate with product management and vendor contacts to resolve quantity and pricing discrepancies.
- Correct errors on monthly preliminary run for accurate COGS and inventory balances.
- Add/Change material vendors as required.
- Complete monthly closing activities consisting of the preparation and input of journal entries to the mainframe computer system.
- Maintain paperwork for assigned branch locations to ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Department Supervisor.
Requirements include:
- 2-year Accounting degree or equivalent work experience.
- Able to operate office equipment.
- Must have cooperative attitude necessary to work effectively with others.
- Good communication skills (verbal & written).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to follow verbal & written instructions.
- Must be able to think analytically and solve problems.
- Commitment to Management System and Continuous Improvement process.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
